Nomadns

Dynamic DNS, a Hostux service

Reach your services,
even when your IP changes.

A nomadns.net subdomain for your NAS, VPN or server. Your router reports each IP change and Nomadns updates your DNS records.

Access is by invitation. To request one, write to Hostux through the contact page. Already received a link? Open it to activate your account.

Example subdomain

server.nomadns.net

Use it instead of the IP address, which can change.

IPv4 · IPv6 · DNSSEC · ACME DNS-01

To reach your devices from the Internet, also configure network access and firewall rules.

Getting set up

  1. Create your subdomain

Choose a subdomain of nomadns.net for your device. Its page brings together DNS records, publication status and the settings to copy into your router.

  2. Automate IP updates

Copy the settings into your router or DynDNS2 client. A token dedicated to each subdomain lets it update the IP without using your account password. You can rotate or revoke it from the control panel.

  3. Get a certificate

Your ACME client obtains and renews the certificate through the DNS-01 challenge, with a token separate from your router’s.

For your DNS queries

Looking for a resolver to use in your browser or device? HostuxDNS supports encrypted DNS queries (DoH, DoT, DoQ). Nomadns publishes records for your subdomains; it does not resolve your queries.
